Headers Installed!
My buddy installed my headers I bought off of summit and we got em all hooked up and bolted in. We are having a problem though. From the header to the down pipe its not a secure enough connection and there is a serious exhaust leak. We've tried finding some donut gaskets but no one has any. Do we not have them bolted together tight enough or what? I found these http://goodies-speedshop.com/i-14516...sket-only.html do you think they will work? It's the summit branded headers.
i got mine used and they have what appears to be a donut gasket on them and i searched and couldnt find a replacement one for them.....

Well this sucks. We went all over town to try and find a damn gasket but no one has one because the truck never came with one. Did anyone else have some problems getting there headers installed? I found some edelbrock donut gaskets on summit but it says it's for edelbrock headers not pace setter. Would they work?
we had a similar problem at the garage i work at. we put an after market exhaust on a car, andthe cat-gasket was wrong, nor did the pipe come with one. so we ended up tightening up everything, then use rubber cement (i think it was) to give the extra seal
As you've found out, these did not use donut gaskets, just a ball socket type connection. The headers are either poorly fitting or the y-pipe needs to be fiddled with to get it to seal. My B2 uses the same connection, I had to mess with loosening and tightening the y-pipe and moving it around before I got it to seal.
