Default Front shock problem

I replaced all four shocks about a year ago, but I just now noticed that the front ones are loose. The bushings at the top of the shock tower don't touch at all, and when I turn the nut to tighten it down, the whole shock turns. Has anyone else dealt with this?

there is a spot under the rubber boots (on the shock) where you can put a wench through thewheel well to hold it. Its very thin so look close

under the shock tower there is a nut at the top of the shock that you can put a wrench on. my monroe sensa tracs are 3/4" but yours may be a different size.
if you don't have that then you can either use a small wrench or vise grips to hold the top of the shock and a wrench on the bolt.

At the top of the threaded shock shaft is flat at the tip. Usually a 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch open ended wrench will fit. If not use, a vise grip. Hold the shaft while lossing the bushing nut with a box wrench. Use WD40 or another penetrating fluid on the nut at least an hour before you try lossening the nut.

A good sized pipe wrench through the springs will help out a bunch. Also, if you have access to an impact gun, you can burp it and that will usually torque the bolt down before spinning the top of the shock.
