same exact reason as me. I took mine to an auto glass place because i thought the windshield might be leaking (it wasn't). I have had one of those carpet type covers over it for the last few years. When he removed it I just couldn't believe how bad it looked.

I also called the local chrysler dealer (dodge dealer went out of business) and while talking to him he stated he hadn't heard any kind of issues with dashes cracking. He was either not very knowledgeable or lying. or both!!!!!

The latter of the two. Deny, Deny, Deny and eventually the trucks will be off the road without having to have done anything.

FYI: If you ever have the need to remove the plastic cowling at the outside bottom of your windshield, for God's sake don't let anything happen to those black cap nuts or push in posts. Two sets (a set being one post/one cap nut) had been for who knows why removed by the previous owner and those four itty-bitty-dealer-only-items only cost me $18.00 .....

Someone please post the pics of removing the dash.... I'm buying one from a junk yard tomorrow, and need to get it out of the car in one piece.

Thanks,
