Default Fan clutch bad?

Hey all. I started hearing a strange noise from my truck last night. At first I thought it was something wrong with the drive train in the front as I could only hear it when the truck was in motion. However this morning when I started the truck the noise was there. I monkeyed around trying to isolate the noise but once the truck warmed up a little it seemed to all but go away. I'm beginning to think that either the fan clutch or the water pump are to blame. Does anyone know how I can tell if either of those are failing? I have no leaking fluid, but I noticed that the fan seems to continue to spin for a few seconds once the engine is turned off. It does this both hot and cold.
