I honestly think a few guys have used these so I would hang in there acsamples till they chime in. I know bluebeast2 has them, but also doesn't have his engine in so that doesn't help. Off the top of my head try to pm Aim4squirrels, as I recall he has these heads. I also think Rex-thedogg might have them?? If think of anyone else, I'll let you know.

get him to explain to you why the 1.7s wont work.

if you are running a stock cam, then theres no reason why they wouldnt work.

if you deck the block or have the heads milled you will have to get different pushrods...but theres no reason why you couldnt run the 1.7s.

...well i guess there is one thing. if those are chinese castings and they are shorter than the real ones then that might be why you cant run the 1.7s. valves may bottom out on the piston...hmmm

research time

They work. That's Bob's heads at Clearwater. That's the exact set of heads I have with the Harland Sharp 1.7 rockers. They probably told you they won't work as most 1.7s are stud mount and don't fit under the valve covers.

BUY THEM, you won't find them cheaper anywhere.

There are 2 versions of the EQ head, one is a direct replacement for a magnum head, but with a little better port shape and hardened seat inserts. The second is exactly the same casting but is machined for LA intakes, however everything else on it is magnum, rockers, valve covers, valves...

the 318A has magnum intake ports...the 318B has the LA intake ports.

he told me these heads were cast in Australia by Tonawambe, he said he has flow numbers but only for the stock size valves. He said he will fax those numbers if somebody is able to get to a fax machine?? send him an email over ebay. headsbycch is his user name.

the guy says the magnum eq 2.02's are good for up to a .510 lift, bigger springs up to .600 would be $100 more a piece. so im thinking the normal springs ,with possibly this cam? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-20-746-9/
