if it rattles cut it out then drive it to test, if you don't have to pass emisions put a "test" pipe on it if it works.

I don't have to get emissions, I just don't know if Im gona be able to get a shop to weld something in place of the cat because its illegal to remove them. They also have the o2 sensor on them and there are two pipes going into it so I can't just clamp a piece in place of it. I guess I should ask them if they will cut it out and be able to move the 02 sensors.

Im just gonna start with the air idle control valve. I'm gonna take it out and see if it's dirty and if it is I'll clean it and put it back in. If the problem persists I'll drop the $50 to get a new one. Then Ill move to the TPS and drop the $50 for a new one of those. Then I'll move to the injectors and after those I'll go to the o2 sensors. I'm not too worried about it cause it does it mostly when its raining. Ill just slow down and not plow through puddles.

it should sound solid...but it shouldnt have any vibration or things shaking inside. if it sounds like somethings moving around inside...you need a new one.

96 and im guessing a farm truck...how many miles?? probably needs a cat and o2 sensors anyway.

o2 sensors are 10 times cheaper and the IAC and TPS shouldnt be getting wet even if you are plowing through puddles.

really...o2 sensors and cat first

Ok, I'll mess with them first. The Cat is really expensive and I haven't found one online with the 2 inlet pipes. I would rather replace it with a y pipe, but i don't know if the o2 sensor will work properly then.

Will the truck run without the o2 sensor that is actually on the cat?
