CEL should it come on when ignition is "on"?

Default CEL should it come on when ignition is "on"?

Hello fellows. When I turn my switch to "on" should the CEL come on? Mine doesn't come on and I thought it should with the ignition switch turned on. Thanks for your time!! 2001 1500 5.9L

Most definitely it should be on. your bulb is most likely burnt out.

Yea that's what I thought. I assume the bulb is located in the instrument panel correct? Thanks
