i used a auburn pro series LSD in my mustang and as far as driving you couldn't tell it was there. while turning slowly you couldn't tell but when you turn and mash on it, it was coming around. spinning from a dead stop it would leave 2 black marks every time! and i know that was a mustang but the parts will work the same. if it would hold my lead foot in a mustang it will hold in a dodge truck!

Question, my Ram 1500 2001 2wheel drive 5.2 ... Do I have a 31 spline 9.25" differential? Last year w/my xmas bonus I was gonna buy a LSD. However I did not move quickly on it and I spent the money on Christmas presents. Good boy huh, Anyway I got stuck in the snow, Most or all of the time it's only one wheel spinning on a patch of ice or snow while the other wheel is sitting on dry asphalt. I swore I was gonna improve the traction.

Yeah, but you see them on jeeps and stuff. Not on 5,500 pound trucks.
A dana 60 is a good swap up front. A dana 60 or 70 is a nice upgrade in the rear as well.

the BIGGEST tire I will run will be a 37 prolly just stick with 35's though. I just don't want to spend a fortune on swapping out axles.

Yes I believe all 94 thru 01 1500's have same rearend just different gears and some had a stock LSD which is a joke. Mine only hooks up when I don't need it.

Yeah, all 1500s have a chrysler 9.25 rear axel, and it's decent. Not alot of after market for it, but it's almost as solid as a dana 60, and it will hold up to 37s fine. If you're gonna run 37s on your stock axels don't lock the front. 37s will just destroy a locked dana 44, but open it should hold up to them pretty well as long as you don't wheel like a butthole.
