Headlight switch
If you've got a little modding in you, you can hook up a very small CPU fan to the heatsink to cool the switch and tap it into the power supply on the switch itself. Should save the switch and it'll barely draw any power at all.
You can probably find on at radio shack for about $5. I suggest pulling the air thru the heatsink instead of blowing at the heatsink.

Ok, here's the result, I think, or hope
You do need to take out the drink holder and ashtray, and it is much easier to drop the shifter down into first, and to drop the steering wheel to it's lowest position. Then the dash cover pops right off, easy as can be. I didn't find any melted anything, I did find one contact that was a mess. Took some cleaner to it, and sanded it lightly, both the male and female sides (bugger getting sand paper into the female one, but do-able). Plugged it back together, and I have headlights again! The sunroof in this truck is off it's track (they tell me) and it leaks, I think some moisture got in there and corroded the contacts, but hell, who knows. Anyway, thanks for all your help!
