fuel pump replacement
for anyone that is thinking about lifting the bed to change the fuel pump as opposed to dropping the tank.

now i don't think its too smart to use a pipe on the end of the jack like that but this gives you an idea about how high to lift the bed.
and i still think that dropping a nearly empty tank would be easier. but some people prefer this way.

I agree, removing the bed is ridiculous! You can always get rid of the fuel in the tank. Not to mention, the tank should be cleaned out anyway. 2 straps, a couple filler tube clamps and a couple special fuel line connectors that have to be removed anyway. Plus you only have to worry about blowing up, not blowing up and being crushed! LOL

i did it that way with my Nissan D21 4x4 i had. but ive done 3 fuel pumps on dodge rams in my dad as a mechanic. and all 3 of them took me like and hour tops, and one of them had 3/4 of a tank. syphoned it all out and still got it done in about an hour...
but this is good for those who somehow cant the straps ot
