The plenum gasket should NOT take 18 hours at all. You can do it in 5-6 if you're slow, that's 1/3 of the time. Or you can go this route in probably 2-3 hours if you're quick and get some performance gains out of it. (This is an r/t member that's been around for a long while on the forums, he's built a few engines and knows his stuff, he's a local friend of mine as well which is why I'm sharing this here. Pretty killer deal considering the plenum gasket has already been taken care of and the labor involved in porting the intake is pretty extensive).

took me a total of 18 hours. 6-7 hours of cleaning. then at the end, about 2 hours of BS'ing cuz the fuel injector o-rings leaked, and i routed the dist. cap wires wrong.

also i changed the thrmostat. Dis.cap, valve coer gaskets as well and that time is included in the 18 hours. also the half hour to bleed the cooling system

It didn't take the guy 18 hours just to do the plenum gasket, and who cares if it did, we all work at our own pace. You should really read the whole post before making dumb *** comments like that.
