Default Which axles are under my 97 1500?

I see that there may be 3 different axles listed in the FAQ section for the front axle. How can I tell which one is what I have?

Differential, With 7.25 RingGear Front
Differential, With Dana 60 Front
Differential, With Model 194 F/ Front

And for the rear....there are 3 options as well. How can I tell?

Differential, 4WD With Dana 60 Rear
Differential, 4WD With Dana 70 Rear
Differential, 4WD With Dana 80 Rear

Yet.....Wikipedia says that I have a Dana 44 under the front.

What is up?

You have a DANA 44 in front and a Corporate 9.25 in the rear. There should be tags on the cover bolts, and it might say in the glove box or one of the stickers under the hood.

Actually it wasn't in the FAQ section. It was under the Quantities thread. There are no fluid quantities for a Dana 44.

OK, I have updated the chart in that thread and removed the 194-FIA axle as it is only used in Dakotas and Durangos. You have a Dana 44 front axle. The Dana 60 front was used on 2500/3500 models.

They do, I just told him where to look to verify because he asked "how can I tell"
