Default Fuel line disconnecting from Fuel pump

Hi all,
New to this forum and need a little help. I wast just given a 98 1500 ram 4x4 v8 5.2l. Its been driven maybe 2500-3000 in the last few years.
The fuel line connector cup at the fuel pump keeps blowing off. Drove fine the first few days but now everytime I start it up it disconnects from the pump and spills fuel until I shut it off.
Could the fuel line be clogged and causing the preasure to blow the line out from the pump. Seem like an easy thint replace but wanted to see if anyone has dealt with this before..

Any advise would be appreciated.

Sounds to me like it's damaged, I would replace it(that's some dangerous sh_t right there). You sure it's on all the way? Do you hear a click?

It's damaged for sure, replace the line simple as that. Cheaper than your's or some one else's life. Btw, since you do hear it click, when you take it apart to replace, make sure it's not the fuel pump half of the connector that's not damaged.

+1 replace it..
I dropped my tank to replace the brake line a month ago. Those fittings aren't the strongest.
Someone probably changed the pump and didn't know how to unclip them and snapped a tab off

Before you buy the expensive fuel lines look into the line. Don't be below the line when you do this as you can get fuel in your eye and that would suck. But the reason I am telling you to do this is because you can actually buy the piece of metal that is inside of the hose. I don't know what it is marketed as but i have replaced it on Ford's fuel lines and dodge and Ford fuel lines are basically the same. Hope this helps.

Thanks guysfor all the advise..there were two things. One, the plastic clip at the connector to the fuel pump was missing and that end of the fuel line is plastic and was all kinked. Ended up changing the whole linefor 80$ and 40 minutes of my time..All good now..

Thanks again
