Default rocker arms backed off???

Hey y'all, I tightened the rocker arms to 21 ft. lbs. like the manual says, did a quick trip (less than 5 miles) to try everything out and when I got back, one has backed all the way off and the rest are loose? Any ideas on where I might have gone wrong?

Thanks!

Perhaps you got some oil in the threads. I'd try a very little bit of brake parts cleaner on the pedestal holes and then blow them out with compressed air or a can that you use to clean a computer keyboard. wipe the threads clean and try some blue locktite and retorque to 21 ft/lbs.

You can use it, just DON"T use the red stuff!!!

I'd also verify that your torque wrench is calibrated correctly. That might be more telling than anything. Also, you didn't use any odd extensions or sockets did you? Things like wobble extensions, etc. can give you funny torque readings.

And just to verify, you went 21 ft/lbs. and not in/lbs, right? I've had a brain fart or two in my time.

cleaned everything up and applied a lil bit of blue locktite, as suggested and it seems to be holding. will try to figure out how to make sure that the torque wrench is calibrated correctly as not sure how old it is or how much it may have been banged around so that could be a factor. and made sure i didnt inch/lb. it by getting the in/lb torque wrench out of my reach before i got to this step. yes, ive had brain farts as well *L*
