Default happy with my new airgap.

well, i installed it about a week ago and boy is it b*tchin. ive read good and bad on the fi airgaps from hughes and made a much agonized decision that its what i wanted to do. eight hours of labor and it was in, and since the computer started relearning how to run it ive noticed excellent gains in top end power. throttle response is improved, although a little shallow, but im still jazzed over the whole thing. once the tach hits 1500 rpm hang on. the truck pulls like an sob and i havent filled it up yet, but im positive about at least some fuel mileage gain. i think it works well with some of my other performance mods which may be why it gets mixed reviews. but i think it was well worth the money and the service and total package was phenominal. now i think the next step is a 50mm fastman to compliment the newintake potential.

I didn't run into any problems, the biggest setback is that there's a lot of things you have to disconnect. Some of those things are hidden very well by lots and lots of wires. So far, it's been pretty easy, just time consuming. I'm working on cleaning things off for putting the intake in.

well, one hassle was fitting the fuel rail into its new place, since the mounts were pre fabbed they fit real close, but not close enough, so they required some slight bending to keep from binding up the injectors real bad. another thing is that i think i have a vacuum leak somewhere. it runs a little rough at idle and up to 1500 rpm. im workin on pics, but it looks suprisingly stock. if you didnt know what you were lookin for i think you would miss the fact that its a high performance part.

Yeah, it seems that the main dissappointment about these is that you can't hardly see it when everything is put back together haha.

ok. so its idling kinda rough and runs rough cold and at low rpms. the obd2 scanner i have tells me the long term fuel trim is a little leean, but not much. i instantly thought it was a vacuum leak cause my vents are acting crazy too, yeah ive been talking about it on the wild vents thread and i apologize for running two threads together. but i the only leak ive found so far is one bad check valve, i dont think thats enough to cuase it to run so bad. could it possibly be from my o2 sensors bein dirty, my old plenum was leaky but it never caused a misfire. im just runnin out of ideas.
