Default Steering wheel pics?

I recently bought a 2002 Ram 2500 I6 diesel with, yes, a bad clock switch. I've been having some headaches with the truck, because I think most 2002 models are Gen 3, but my exterior is clearly Gen 2.

Having said that, the steering wheel in mine has the cruise control switches at the 4o'clock and 8 o'clock positions, instead of what I believe to be the standard Gen 2 steering wheel where the switches are just at the 6 o'clock position.

The point I'm trying to get at is, do I order a Gen 2, or Gen 3 clockswitch? Mine has two, 2-wire harnesses for cruise control, but I think that most Gen2s have one 4-wire harness.

Perhaps the previous owner swapped out the column, or steering wheel, or both?!

thanks in advance!

Doortag says 01/2002. Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 club cab diesel.

All 2002 2500/3500 Rams were still considered 2nd gen.

I'd say you need to ask for a 2nd gen since it has the same components.

Nope, 99-01(or in your case 02) the CC switches are at 4 and 8. Earlier 2nd Gens. had them at the 6 o clock.

A clock switch from any 99-01 should work. I doesn't sound like the column or wheel have been swapped/replaced.

Default Thanks

that clears up quite a bit.

I think I was most confused by my Haynes manual, that is for 2002-2008, making me think that some (if not most) 2002s were gen 3.

The 1500's in 2002 were 3rd gens but the 2500 and 3500 trucks were still a second gen they didnt get changed til the next year
