Default HELP!!! HELP!!! 98 3/4 ton

I hope someone on this forum can help me. I have 98 Dodge 2500, Manual Tran, 360 engine. While driving at 70mph or 30 mph the truck will quit. Usually I have to wait 30 min- 60 min and it will start back up and run fine. It does it worse when the weather is hot. I have had it into the dealership and everything checks out fine. It runs great except for the this one ANNOYING problem. I have been told that it could be a crank sensor, control module, ignition pickup and many other things. Anyone out there had similar problems??

Please help

thanks

Sheba

havent had this problem but 2 things come to mind, crank sensor and fuel pump. the fuel pump is easily tested by hooking up a guage to the fuel rail... should have 45 or so psi on it right after turning the key on. you'll hear the fuel pump turn on if it's working ok and see the pressure rise. One thing you can try if you suspect the crank sensor (might be hard to do) is to get a can of chill spray and when it dies, blast it and try to start it up. if it's a heat failure, cooling it down should fix it so it'll start.

HTH...

If you have had it into the dealer and they pat you on the head and say it's ok, then take it elsewhere. Like you said it can be a multitude of problems. A mechanic needs to recreate the problem on a test drive and then try to diagnose it there. I bet it is probiably the pickup module. Doubtful it is the crank sensor because of the nature of how it works, but again you can't properly diagnose the problem if your mechanic can't recreate it.
