Default Accelerate clunk, not on down shift.

My 01 has devolped an issue I noticed going down the highway. After letting the foot of the gas then touching the gas pedal I hear and feel a clunk right under the floor boards. Its not when down shifting just after coasting. Seem to be more noticable at highway speeds. I was thinking U joints as a few months ago I also noticed a shake when accelerating. Reblanced the tires etc... and the shake is still there also. Could this be the tranny?

Thanks

I'm thinking U-joints. I had that issue with a clunking (especially from a dead stop) and dropped the driveshaft. WHOOP! The cap of one joint was broken and the bearings had washed out, leaving the joint to flop around like a catfish on dry land.
