upholstering center console lid

Default upholstering center console lid
The lid on my center seat console has some nicks in it and the wife wants to upholster it with something new. I don't see an obvious way that the lid comes off - anyone have the answer or suggestion? Thanks

My best answer would be to go to the bone yard and see if you can find a spare to practice on.

Someone here reupholstered his in the last year or two. Said it was easy. What frustrates me is I asked repeatedly for pictures and instructions -- and nothing. I wish someone would do so.
