I for one appreciate you renaming the threads..It's extremely helpful when trying to find an answer.

+1 on putting in quotes. That helps as well.

Augiedoggy i checked it out two day. i didn't feel any play inbetween the two shafts (which would be caused by what ever is under the rubber cover correct?)

what i did feel is that with the engine off i could move the entire intermediate shaft around (a little rotating to the left and right), i looked in through the windshield and i could see the the steering wheel move. but of course the tires werent moving. is this play only because the engine was off or is this probly the source of the loose steering.

I believe that is normal as mine does it too...only with the engine off though

and correct their is two sections comming together under the rubber...one inside the other and mine was sloppy here..

I have a similar problem. It almost feels like the axle is moxing side to side under the truck. I have a DT trac bar and it is solid. Im starting to think it has something to do with caster.
