I checked the hose that goes from the TB to the check valve, when I plug it with my finger the engine dies so I know it's not clogged.

I called an auto recycler, he said he'll sell me the brake booster for $25 if I pull it myself.

He has 3 98's, 2 99's, 4 00's, and 1 01 Ram at his lot so I'm guess his computer tells him it's different from 94-97.

But all the same, $25 is worth a shot to check the problem.

I may be wrong but the motor should run normally with the hose plugged and stumble like mad if open.

Well guys, I replaced the brake booster with one from a wrecking yard today.
Brakes work great, went ahead and bled them a couple times and problem solved.

My ABS and Brake lights are on in my dash, I'm guessing I just knocked a wire or bumped something, so no big deal.

Thanks for all the help guys,
It's nice knowing I have a second car again

I am glad to hear your gf is ok...I have another thread going right now complaining about my rotors warping all the time cause they get hot then cold and warp...seems I replace or resurface once a year.

glad you found the problem...I am investing in slotted rotors and high end pads...glad ur problem was fixed for much less! I hate braking systems!

haha yeah. nobody was hurt in the accident except my truck. It bent the brushguard back a little, so now when you look at it from the side the top is leaning towards the hood.

but all the same I'm glad she's ok. And I'm glad it didn't hurt my truck too much. don't want to do any car shopping this season haha
