whining sound in motor?
whining sound when i accelerate, i have no idea wat is but when i step on the gas it whines like a high pitch sound, wat could it be? also my oil pressure gauge is almost all the way to the red mark(the top) when i am just idling
if it sounds like its coming from the passenger seat, its probably a wife or girlfriend. the best solution is to relocate that piece of equipment.
powersteering pumps can whine.
vac leaks can whistle.
alternators, waterpumps, idler pulleys, ac compressors can whine or roar.
remove the serpentine belt and rotate each pulley by hand. they should be smooth, quiet, no play, no roar, no slop.

HAHAHAHAHAHA lol thats funny, but no right in the middle there is 157000 miles
Should the oil pressure ever be that high? Mine never gets nearly that high even during heavy acceleration.

my oil psi is wierd at cold idle its about 70psi after wrm up its about 40psi at idle. when accelerating it will go from 40psi to about 55-60psi. Is there a normal? dont seem like it ever thread i read about oil psi everyones seems to be diff.
Yeah, that is normal. When cold, oil is very thick (This is why they tell you to warm your engine before changing the oil) and doesnt flow very well. So, at a cold start-up, the pressure will be high. Then as the motor warms up, the oil becomes thinner and can flow better. But If you are running a 10W-30 oil right now, you should change it out for some 5W-30 Synthetic oil in the winter, espcially since you live in New York.
