if it sounds like its coming from the passenger seat, its probably a wife or girlfriend. the best solution is to relocate that piece of equipment.

powersteering pumps can whine.

vac leaks can whistle.

alternators, waterpumps, idler pulleys, ac compressors can whine or roar.

remove the serpentine belt and rotate each pulley by hand. they should be smooth, quiet, no play, no roar, no slop.

I've noticed that whine in my truck too. I just ignore it.

But all the way to 60PSI at idle? What oil and filter are you using?

Should the oil pressure ever be that high? Mine never gets nearly that high even during heavy acceleration.

Yeah, that is normal. When cold, oil is very thick (This is why they tell you to warm your engine before changing the oil) and doesnt flow very well. So, at a cold start-up, the pressure will be high. Then as the motor warms up, the oil becomes thinner and can flow better. But If you are running a 10W-30 oil right now, you should change it out for some 5W-30 Synthetic oil in the winter, espcially since you live in New York.
