Twisted Rear Leafs what to do??
These are what I'm ordering in 2010 to replace my worn out rear springs:
http://stengelbros.3dcartstores.com/34-1339_p_1958.html
$183.35 before shipping.
UPS Ground shipping is $37.72 to my address, I'm assuming it'd be similar to most places in the USA.
It is the four leaf with the one "overload" leaf or whatever you want to call it.
If you want, you can even get their HD version:
http://stengelbros.3dcartstores.com/34-1339HD_p_21.html
It has five leafs plus an overload. $226.88

XRAY99,..that Eaton spring site is a "MUST" read..even for seasoned truck guys who think they know it all,...(like me for 1..ha..ha). *And,..JohnJokela, sounds to me that you are in fact mechanically inclined, but even still....springs can be a "royal pain" if not given all your attention and even kill you as mentioned earlier by our friend in the blue short box. My 2-inner leafs were broken on my right rear and it's cheaper to buy the whole "pack",...I even upgraded by 1-leaf, from the wrecking yard. For now...replace the bands and check out: JCWhitney.com and price out for your application...(I sound like a commercial). How's your shocks?
Eaton has been a legend in the classic car circle for decades, many guys won't consider anything else when it comes to springs. I own a 68 Firebird so that, combined with the fact that I live 20 minutes from the factory, explains why I take my business there.
I did my 68's leafs and coils, I did a jacked up 80 Camaro, put new leafs and air shocks on it, and I did my truck a few years back, them guys were extra helpful with all 3.
Their quality is top notch, the employees are knowledgeable and helpful and they have in stock or can make on the spot anything you want at a reasonable price.
So yeah, whether considering a purchase of just looking for info, that site is well worth bookmarking ,,, They even have a spring forum there.

i have 123,xxx miles on my truck i changed the waterpump front housing gasket , timing chain, waterpump, oil pan gasket , while i was in there, + the friggen PITA heater core, which i still smell a little coolant ,i hope i forgot some(mop up coolant) in the bottom of the housing and didnt get jostled from offroading, and put back the 195 t-stat, instead of the 180 , it threw codes(evap /emission its a cali built, so 3 cats , cut off the unmonitored one) and killed my milage + heat.. ,i know i need shocks, but waiting for the x-mas season to be over ... but , either bilsteins, or KYB , looking towards KYB monomax, heading out now to give it a whirl, had to help put up the x-mas tree this morning first, i'll be back in a few, but that was a very good read about the springs
pro comp mx-6 shocks... you all talk about other shocks but nobody I've seen has mentioned these... The adjustables are supposed to be some of the best shocks (according to some of the best dodge suspension guys in my area) and was thinking about lifting it a little more, but don't know if I should go above 33's as much as I haul with the 4.1's... new tires for sure and It's seeming like it maybe plenum time in my ram.... ??
I agree with "JasonW" , the Bilsteins are in fact a very good shock. I myself use my proven "Rancho RS-5000's". [Adjustable shocks are obviously good,..like the 15 way adjustables available nowadays, ..because you can adjust them almost infinitely for what you need. BUT,..they also break down...too many parts,...too many things to go wrong in time,..unless you buy new ones every season].

Get that plenum done as soon as you can. You'll thank yourself for the improvements you'll get, and your truck will thank you, from its throttle body to its catalytic converter.
