Have an 02 1500 360. No plenum leak(yet, it's at 90k), deathflash was annoying but fixed with a Superchips 3815, zero problem with transmission. And I haul over 6,000lbs regularly. Steering box? The rack and pinion on my ram moves 37x1250's with NO PROBLEM, it feels like street tires. No leaks, no failures, and it's at 90k. The 360 is a great, strong motor.

That aside, there was no rumble bee 360's. Lol. Also, the V10 only made about 400 some torque, and barely more HP then the 360.

My 360 gives me about 310 miles on a 26 gal tank, about 390 miles now with the Superchips reprogram. That's about 12 mpg average before, and 15 now.

I used to work at a car dealership and I couldnt not believe some of the stuff that they did. They buy cars from the auto auction with frame damage and when they sell it put one little tiny check on the bottom of the window sticker and dont tell the buyer. I worked there for six months and cant tell you how many times that people came in complaining cause there title was a salvage title. Or the day someone was coming to pick up a car they bought and my boss told me to go unhook the battery so the computer would reset and the cel would go off. I personally will never buy a vehicle from a dealership unless I knew the person that traded in a vehicle there. In my opinion youll have a greater chance of buying a good vehicle from a private party

your one of the exceptions to the rule..... and you lifted it and put the 37" on when new?....I would have thought for sure you would have had at least a wheel bearing fail by now.....You must not be much of an offroader or very carful driver?
I'm not sure if the 02 has all the same weaknesses as a 99 but the issues I mentioned above are general weaknesses in the vehicles engineering..mosy trannys here seem fail between 100k and 150k with lots of electrical sensors and soleniod issues along the way. There are tons of tbs's on the front end so I'd imagine some of the issues were corrected with at least that along the way....I bought my truck beat and used and I have not had any plenum issues as of yet but that could have been addressed by PO...I have had issues with the others I mentioned and many here have stated as a general experience our 1500 axles dont like tires larger than 35" but I'm sure they would hold up if babied and not used for heavy offroading...both the ones I looked at when buying mine needed wheel bearings...one was still in pieces..

And your close with the torque comment....only the 95-97 5.9 was rated at 430lbs(still think thats wrong) .(v10 was 450 btw)....your 2002 is only rated at 335lbs....(they had to borrow from somewhere to increase the hp from 230 to 245 on the 2002's

Lol. I have IFS on my ram. There is no solid axle. I go mudding and rock crawling in it, here in CO, there are tons of trails. No problems yet.

Dyno on my 360 is 310 hp at 3,850 rpm, and 460lbs torque. I'll post exact dyno jpg's after I grab them from work laptop. Probably more power due to the superchips, ignition upgrades, etc.

Either way, I'm building a custom twin turbo over the summer for the truck. One for low rpm spool, one for high rpm spool. Should even it out and give it some decent power.

310hp at 3850rpm? Like to see that dyno sheet. Most that are making above even 250rw will see that hp above 5000rpms. Torque will be above 4000rpms as well. Hardly comparing apples to apples here considering stock 5.9s (99) would be about 180-190rwhp & 240trq.
V10, not much of a comparison. Mine rides like a tank compared to my 1500s Ive had, will smoke the tires for 100' if nailing the gas without holding the brakes & thats bone stock with 3.55grs. Stock 5.9, good luck getting it to chirp unless you have gears in it

That's weird, before I did -any- engine work on my 360 I could burn rubber until I let off the gas, with 37x1250's and stock gears in the 9.25. I set the rev limiter to 4500 because otherwise you just float valves all day.

As for your factory specs on HP and torque for the 360, I think your a bit off.

I have to say 3.55 gearing and 37" tires with a factory 360 would be a dog....I have 35" and 4.56 gearing with my 360 with headers/highflow exhaust and cai and such and while I havent tried I doubt I could break them loose....I have much more pickup in my 205 hp vette....
