Default out of town need dodge help!

my 1995 dodge ram 1500 318 will run down the road 100-150 miles and out of the blue start slowing down like its is not getting gas.if I give it more gas it spits and sputers and slowes down more until its on the side of the road.If I sit for 15-20 min.and start back up it will run rough for 4-5sec and then act fine. This has happened 4 times the first was 6 months ago I was low on fuel and thought I picked up trash. The last 3 times were at different levels all past 1/4tank.It seemed to happen faster at speeds above 65.I am in Washington DC and have to drive to North Carolina in 3days PLEASE HELP! My gas gage does not read correct from 7/8 to 1/2 tank if this might have something to do with my fuel pump going bad! This has not happend in 7 days of 20mi commute back and fourth to work until this morning! After driving 70-75mph for 15mi I lost power and started to slow, trying to force gas made it spit and sputer easeing on the gas let me maintain speed and slowly slow down,I pulled to the shoulder @ 35mph and coasted a bit and quick as it came it went away. Is it gremlens?

i'd say the fuel pump is either weak, or the filter or lines are clogged up.
you might want to try a fuel pressure test at the fuel rail as a starting point.

the fuel filter is integrated with the pump, inside the tank. thanks dodge. i don't know if you could inspect/clean it or not. i've not had to replace mine yet.

+1 fuel pumps are a common issue, can you hear it kick on every time you cycle the key?
