Where did you purchase the guages? I've been looking for one at local stores, but can't seem to find one under $60. Also, what is the temperature range on the guage? I would like one that starts at around 100 F, but has a large enough sweep so you can get a fairly precise reading.

The previous owner put a large cooler with 10 tubes on my truck after he blew up the original tranny. I do some light towing and would like to know what my temps are running. I'm sure they are fine, but I would still like to know the range. I priced a pillar (pod) guage holder at a local store yesterday, they wanted $110 for the part, it did not include the guage. I nearly fell over when the guy told me the price. I can't see spending that much for what is basically a piece of molded plastic. I like the location, since it is visible but out of the way.

I might have to try making one out of a piece of oak and see if I can get it to to fit against the pillar. With some stain, it would look better than the fake wood grain decal that you get with some of the guages.
It is an Autometer gauge I got from Summit. The range of the gauge I am using is 100-250 (see pic).

Nice setup!

You should paint you gauge pod to match the a-pillar. Cans of interior paint, matched to interior color codes, can be gotten at most Chrysler dealers. I did that when I installed my a-pillar grab handle so it would look like it came that way.

It wasnt that far off in color to begin with but for some reason the flash on the camera made it lighter.

Thanks. I did a search for Autometer and was able to find the guages and accessories on their website. It's nice to be able to do some research on the internet rather than walking into the store and having some young kid who doesn't know squat try to look up the information for you.
