Default 390 power numbers

hey guys... as most of you know kno i am thrown on what motor stuff to do for my truck because i dont have money to just throw at it... i have my 318, was going to just rebuild it.. put all good parts, and be done... but i got to thinkin ( i know, its scary) why does noone do the 390 stroker kits in these trucks?

how streetable is this motor?
what kind of power numbers could come from this setup....

also to add on here, if i had my 318, cleaned it all up, honed, reringed, new crank, redone valves, ( 202 if i can find the heads for cheap) M1 intake, 1.7's fastman, 180t, what kind of power numbers could come from that? being it will have a new plenum, full exhaust, 14X3 intake... i know noone here can give me exact, but just a ball park would be nice... i ask because my buddy has his bronco sittin on 38.5 boggers... 4.10 gears, with his 302, and turns them just fine... thing can almost pop wheelies in pavement in 4lo...

well... i was also looking at the hugher intake... but i also have to keep in mind. when i go muddin, its not like crawlin, my motor is ussually in the higher rpms... so low end is good, but i dont see it being a problem, unless m1 is just that bad. i mena i havent done my reasearch on either or, so this info is good... i know not to get m1, and just go hughes...

Get the M1 if you're stroking it. A stoker has more than enough torque to overcompensate for the loss.

And don't forget, you're dealing with a new cylinder volume that needs to breathe more. You'll want at least 2.02 intake valves on ported heads and I suggest a dual exhaust with longtubes to get all that out on the back end.

You might find that due to the odd nature of stroking a 318, prices on crank and piston packages tend to be higher, and actually buying a 360 block and stroking that might be darn near the same price. You'll need a tuning solution at any rate, and I believe a 5.2L PCM can be flashed over to be used in a 5.9L engine as well.
