Default Trailer hitch lights

I tried hooking up one of those cool things in a trailer hitch that lights up. When i hit the break, it didnt work. Any ideas?

Its a thing that goes into the trailer hitch and has a ram symbol on it, so if you hook it up to the trailor hitch and hit the brakes the ram lights up, but its not lighting up..

Oh. Put a volt meter on the pins to see if you are even getting voltage at the hitch.

I know the wiring on the ram thing is fine itself. And how would i make voltage go back to it?

Obviously the wiring on the truck is not fine if you have no voltage going to the accessory.

Get out a multimeter and start checking it at various points.

I paid $3 for a 4way tester you can get them anywhere. It lights up to tell you what is working and what isn't. There are many possible problems the first one I check when light don't work, I tow a duck boat a lot, is the fuses those things go like crazy.
