Default Trans problems! Help me please
ok so i have a 2001 dodge ram v10 with automatic trans and the trans is starting in 2nd gear any ideas as to why it would do this. there are no codes and the fluid and filter are fresh.

do some more checking but I think that can be caused by your governor malfunctoning, or your overrunning clutch is slipping. Check your linkage first tho. Because its easy and quick and free.

can you get it in first with the column shifter?

yeah it takes off BEAUTIFLY when i manually shift it into first on the column!
