My advice would be to get a harness from a V8 truck.

His 94 should be equipt with the A518 someone correct me if I am wrong. In which case they make kits to put these transmissions in carb vehicles, http://www.transmissioncenter.net/SwapInformation.htm, I hope this hepls.

the truck its going into is a 5speed so there should be no worries on the tps or anything like that ..there would be no sence in having the computer hooked up at all if im running a carb...a $600 intake isent gonna happen..that would be like putting a dimond on a turd....i would consider the $150 intake......or find a junked v8 5 speed and run the fi.......ive pondered the idea of dumping an older carbed 318 in there but my 3.9 makes 175hp and the old 318 is between 120-140 hp and gets **** for fuel milage

someone told me the clutch for the 3.9 and 5.2 is the same but the flywheel is not, they told me the ignition picks up its signal from notches in the flywheel, the 3.9 has 6 and the 5.2 has 8, I can't find much info on the flywheel, so i don't know if its true.

What about an overhaul on the 3.9 or buy another truck that's got a good motor.Your truck is only worth 1-2000 dollars.Depending on the miles.

good news and bad news.....

the bad ...my trans decided to blow all to hell

the good.. the truck is getting a 318 and it should be a simple swap im going to use the auto trans from the parts truck...so all i have to do is bolt it in plug in the wires and make a floor mount shifter[i know i could just swap the stearing colum but floor mount shifters are cool..lol] and im good to go

kinda sucks that its going to be an auto

jbomb...what motor did you swap into what truck.. with what trans? i read through your post but missed that info.....

the reason i think my swap should be easy is that i am taking a running truck with all the wires and plunking it into another truck....in theory i could have the motor running fine on the garage floor ..so i done see how i will have issues with it when i put it into my truck....but please correct me if im wrong before i start turning bolts..lol
