Need some tips on sand dragging my Ram!
Iv been racing my Ram at a 4x4 event in sand. The track is 300ft long and i need to make my truck faster, to keep up with the jeeps. Im not worried about the other pick up trucks, i can keep up with and beat most of them. I need some CHEAP ideas to make my truck go faster. Maybe some adjustments that could be made? This is what iv already done.
Hypertech programmed with 93 octane
8.2mm taylor wires
NGK v-power plugs(I dont think they help)
gutted cat, new o2 sensor, strait pipe exhaust
new intake manifold gaket and plenum gasket
Edelbrock proflo air filter set up(i dont think it hepls)

You can do an underdrive pulley, put on headers (summit brand are around $150), and the best thing would be a bigger gear in the rear end.
I have done the headers and the gears, for the money the headers were great.

ok i got some aggressive 265 75 r16s im gonna run, wats the underdrive pully? And i was planning on headers but the bolts on the manifolds are extremly rusty, they look real bad to get off.
get some crc knock'er loose, cyclo breakaway, crc freezeoff or aerokroil.
spray it on the bolts then give them a few taps with a wrench, wait a little bit (5-30 minutes) and those bolts will just about take themselves out.

I've done 2wd mud drags. im runnin 265/70/17's with 3.55 gears and a 318. just lower the tire pressure. it makes a difference. and anyway you can save weight is good loose the tailgate and anything in the bed. underdrive pulley and an electric fan would help too. the electric fans are lighter cause they're plastic.

So you're getting beat by jeeps...and since a Jeep weighs about 2000 lbs less than your ram, the problem is obvious.
How much horsepower do you think you'd need to make the weight difference? The answer is based on how many car lengths the slowest jeep beats you by. Oh btw...its a pretty big number. Bolt ons alone probably won't get it done.
Sorry for the "sarcasm". I'm being bluntly honest.
IS this just fooling or around, or sanctioned racing? Do you run a tree start, or flagman? If its a tree, do you know your reaction time?
Do you run passes in high or low range? Can you use mud or sand tires on the rear if the rules allow them? Whats the largest tire you can run in your class? Traction and gearing will help, but that last 100 feet is gonna require something more than tires gears and lockers.
Lastly, can you run nitrous or a supercharger?
