drive shaft center support bushing
hi, i have a 97 club cab/long bed, and the bushing for the drive shaft center support is toast. does anyone know what that part is called, or where it may be sold?
the dealer wants $180 for a chunk of rubber, when one ALMOST like the one i need is $5 at the parts store!
thanks!

That whole unit I believe is called the Carrier bearing? I had to mess with the one on my mazda B2200 when replacing the rear axle. Dodge may call it something else and the Haynes manual doesn't seem to have anything on it.
Are you talking about the trasfercase seal? It is where the drive shaft exits the TC. If that is it , it's pretty simple to change and the seal is no more than $20.00.( I think.)
on the longer pickups for example: club cabs with long bed. they split the rear drive line and i believe it is called carrier bearing also, but it seems to be under a different at the parts store. if its the same as i looked up at advance auto they run somewhere between 30 and 50 dallers
It's called a hanger bearing. It presses on the end of the front drive shaft. If you have a decent sized hammer and a vise you can beat the old one off and press the new one on. They can be tough to get off.
