Default Cigar lighter not working.

I've checked the fuse and its okay. Would this be a matter of replacing the actual socket with one from the junkyard? I just found out it doesn't work when I tried to charge the GPS I got for Christmas!

take the dash apart and check to see if the wire is still connected to the back of the socket. could have fallen off or disconnected. just a thought.

Test the fuse. Not just a visual. Get a multimeter.

I know it's plugged in because when I put in the stereo I was sure to reattach it properly.

I will test the fuse and socket with a multimeter and see what happens.

This socket only works when the truck is ACC or ON position correct?

cig lighter is switched (on or accy).
aux charger is unswitched

use the multimeter on dc volts setting to check for voltage.
with no power on the wires, use the ohms setting to check for continuity.
you might have a burned up wire, or loose wire.
note you have to have both voltage and ground in the socket.
