Rhinolined My ENTIRE Truck w/pics
Here's some pics of my truck I Rhinolined then put a coat of poly aircraft paint over that. The aircraft paint is 10 times more durable that auto paint and I did the whole thing $1500 cheaper than a paint shop wanted to charge me for a regular paint job.
It was stripped down, dismantled (doors, bed, hood), rhino'ed, painted, then reassembled.
The headlights are projector/LED/Halo
Tailights are all LED.
18 " tires/rims
New interior, floorboards, carpet, stereo
Let me know what you think!

Thanks!
Really dark tint...can't see into it from the outside but yet still easy enough to see out of at night.
The texture of the paint looks EXACTLY like a coat of ice on the truck. I get stopped all the time by people simply wanting to feel it, some have flagged me at stop lights wanting to know how I did it...its a real attention getter.
So you painted over the rinoliner with rubber in it? I would be worried about how thats gonna hold up? Did you give the rhinoliner the couple weeks to cure before painting over it?
It does look pretty good..

Its done on aircraft all the time...I was in the Air Force for 25 years...so I would know. The paint has a 10 year warranty on it so if anything happens I just take it back to the shop for repair. I don't imagine they would do that if they were not sure about the bonding characteristics of the paint.
Thanks for the compliment on the truck

ditto..I've seen where the rhinoliner is still there but the metal rotted completly away behind it... I have to do a more thorough job on the inside of my rockers myself... I dont like the wa the ice sticks to the herculiner like glue....i did my rockers and door sills and when opening the door it sounds like its ripping the stuff off when the ice is forced away...
My bad, I can see how that was taken out of context. They paint over rubber on aircraft.
There is a type of rhino liner used in the wheel wells of some aircraft to keep runway debris from damaging paint.
I didn't paint the underside of the panels. One thing to remember when doing this is the thickness it adds to the body. If one were to do the underside, it would cause the panels to be misalligned. Of course, you could undercoat the bottom as many people do.
The truck is rust free at this point...I guess we don't have all the ice, snow, salt that you do up north. We get maybe 1-4 inches of snow a year. I primarily use the truck for towing my boat to the lakes 10 minutes from my house. Let me know if you know of anyone interested in it!
