Default Hi new hear, Also have a question about coolant leak

First off let me say hi, I am a person who dosent chime in much unless I know what I am talking about. But I do love reading the responses from those who do.

I have leaking coolant that I have tracked down to the tube running out of the top of the water pump. It appears to be buried under air conditioner & alternator & the bracket is massive with alot of stuff to undo. During the summer months as I dont have a garage this wouldnt bug me that much. But as stated I do not have any where warm to do this. Does any body know a short cut method that I am not seeing? I have the 5.9L 97 2wd. Thanks Jeff

Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you're talking about the bypass hose, it's a pretty common thing to fail on the 5.2/5.9 magnums. Yes you do have to take the accesory bracket off in order to replace it. It really isn't very hard to do, it's just a bunch of 1/2" and 9/16" bolts that are relatively easy to get at. Took me about an hour, and I'm no expert mechanic. Good luck.

if it's just barely seeping out then you could just throw some rtv on it until it gets warm again.

Thanks I appreciate the responses. I figured I would have to take it all off. Come on warm days.
