Exclamation Wiring under driver seat?

Can anyone tell me what are the wires for under the drivers seat that lead towards the centre console? The truck does NOT have power/heated seats, and the wiring harness has more than 5 wires in it, so they all can't be for the seat belt warning chime.

I'm asking because I have a short in that wiring harness, I don't have floor mats in the rear seat area and I think melting snow from my rear seat passengers has gotten into the wiring harness. The result is the radio will not turn off, the turn signals work without the key in the ignition, and the headlights on warning chime (that makes noise when the door is open and the lights are on without the key) makes noise if you sit in the truck when the lights on and no key and the door is closed. If I turn on the wiper switch to LO or Hi, the radio will turn on/off/on, same if the wiper switch was in the intermittant position, the radio will turn on and off timed exactly with the intermittant setting. Everything is acting really weird.

I'm asking about the wiring under the seat because when I touch it or fiddle with it, the radio will turn off, but then turn back on.

I was beginning to wonder if I have a bad Central Timer Module. I only have a base trim model, no power windows/locks, so the circuits arn't too complicated, but not sure how to proceed.

For now I've had to disconnect the Negative battery terminal to ensure if there is a short somewhere, the battery doesn't go flat or worse, start a fire.

Any input would be appreciated.

check the wiring diagrams in this 01 service manual. it might be same or similar.
if not, visit your local dealer and ask them to print the wiring diagram for your 99 radio/seat/etc. they'll likely do it for free right off the computer in a minute or two.

Check your ignition switch. We had a similar issue with my neighbor's mini van and it turned out to be the switch. The switch was broken and still acted like the key was in.

Default Your wiring problem

it doesnt sound like a wiring problem at all.. Most domestic and foreign vehicles chime when the headlights are left on regardless of door position when keyed off. Your radio issue is completely common in dodge trucks. The stock radio is terrible. They consistenly have issues with power on/off and volume control considering they are built into the same ****. As far as melting snow.. I doubt it. Im sure ur fine.. replace ur radio.. and u should have no further issues.. remember.. door chime/headligh chime is common
