Question wierd starting issue

Hi everyone, new to posting here, this is my 1st post. Got a problem-- driving home last nite, truck dies like someone turns off the ignition, cant restart, got towed home. Battery seems to deplete pretty quickly. I hooked it up to a charger this morning, got lots of juice now, but all it does is turn over, no spark at all. Had the cap & rotor replaced this summer, suspect the coil, plugs & possible the wires, any other ideas??

yes those could cause this issue...

also look into the blown plenum gasket issue that ALL these trucks have...with a blown plenum it can clog your CAT, and make it die..and not start back up.

but you say you have no spark....id do the plugs, wires, coil, and do the dist.cap/rotor again.

You drive a 2nd generation Dodge Ram with a Magnum Gas motor. All you could need to know about the plenum gasket is at the bottom of my sig.

I was talking to the guys @ bumper to bumper, they suggested taking the alternator off, and bringing that in to test what do you think? I thought maybe go after the cheaper stuff first, since its been since 05 replacing the spark plugs, wires or coil.
but I dont drive it much, so I really didnt think it could be an issue. Could it be just disuse?

Well, if you havent done a tune up in 5 years, I'd really do that. Silicone (what plug wires are made of) and plastic (cap and rotor) both deteroiate regardless of mileage.
