keyless remote broken(need new one)
Does anyone know where I can get a new remote button from? My has broken off the keys and I'm over having it in my pocket?
Trucks a 1994, 1500,5.9tlr.

1. Go to www.ebay.com
2. Type "94 ram keyless remote" minus the quotations into the Search box.
3. Hit the "Enter" key.
You'll get at least seven search results, thats what I am getting right now. Most of the remotes are all the same, and the prices range from about $16 shipped to $22 shipped. Just make sure it looks identical to what you have now. (If you really want, on your remote some place should be a part number that you can match to the ones on eBay.)
After that, all you have to worry about is programming it for your truck. Do you have a working 2nd remote that isn't broken, or is the broken one your only unit?

If you look at the auctions themselves, the ram ones have the same part numbers as the ones for the vans. Its the same exact remote.
Not sure about programming for a pre-1999 truck. On the 1999 to 2001s, its usually pretty easy to add up to three others, as long as you have at least one existing functional remote.
According to what I've read on the eBay auctions, the 1994 remotes need to be programmed by a dealership.

my 2000 can be programmed with an existing remote like jasonw said. but i didn't have one and it cost 30$ to get the dealer to do it.
the reason you need an existing remote is because you need it to put the truck into programming mode. without one, the dealer needs to plug their scanner in to put the truck into programming mode.
according to jasonw's findings on ebay though, a 94 owner is boned on doing it themselves.
