Default Cold oil

I was reminded how thick oil can get when I put a qt.of 10w30 full syn.oil in my crankcase this morning.It was in the back of the truck all night.16*F Brrrrrrr!!!

At least it wasn't lucas left out in the cold, it would have been like apple jelly!

STP in cold weather is thick too. takes about a day to pour it in. LOL.

It took a while to go down the funnel.It did look like honey....sourwood!!!lol

I've run 20W50 in my 87 since it was new.
When it gets down into the single digets or below zero it turns over a little slower but has always started.
So far it's still doing good at 170,000+ miles.

a few weeks ago when we had the big snow storm and i blew my tranny line, i had my tranny fluid, and lucus, was working on it outside in 10 degree weather, and snowing like a bastard. changed out the line, put a few quarts of tranny fluid in. went to go put the lucus in put it upside down and nothing was comming out, then a big blob came out and dropped into the funnel....wasnt going down....had to waste it, and had to go back to thetranny fluid cuz i couldnt put the lucus in, it was like penut butter
