hey everyone im new to the forum, but i just bought a 1997 1500 4x4 5.2 from my uncle and it happened to still have the original 97 window sticker folded up in the glove box, the sticker say HD 4-speed automatic transmission. does anyone know if there was a hd 46re? or are they all the same?

 

they are the same....well theres 46RE and 46RH

The 46RH is pre 1996.Not sure your right about the HD being the same as the non HD(If there is such an animal).

 

My window sticker says,"4 speed HD Automatic Transmission" under Optinal Equipment/Heavy Duty Service Group,and the under hood sticker simply say's "46RH".
