I would highly recommend you weld in a new cat rather then clamps. Escpecially if you like to off-road. Just my opinion.

definitely weld it...regardless of what you do. i dont think you can even clamp it properly...the other pipe on the cat might get in the way. personally, i think welding is easier than clamping anyway haha.

so good news today. I had a ****ty distributor, place replaced it for free.. and they did me the favor of gutting the cat for me (hehe) and the truck is running awesome. Thanks for the info guys.. no rattles and truck is running like a top.

I don't do any offroading and the one clamp I put on it works fine.

The factory uses clamps so, I just don't see the big deal ? Mine has not leaked in 4 years.
