Default tranny problem

hey guys I need a little help....my buddy got his wife a 99' 1500....its got a rebuilt tranny and it seems to be stuck in a fail safe mode(only 2nd gear) after scanning with a tranny scanner these codes came up...gps offset volt to low/high..code p1762, gps voltage to high..code p1763, lack of acknowledgement from engine management..code u2500.....the tech that scanned the tranny said it was a electrical problem possible a bad ground....does this sound right??

thanks,
Ray

sounds like the govener pressure selenoid. I've read many threads on this problem, (seems to be common) so that would be my guess, and since its pulling codes for it, its probably the culprit.

Replace the sensor and solenoid in pairs.

Holy hell batman, mine just did the same thing today. Called my Uncle (Chrysler Tech) ran what was happening by him....he said the exact same thing.

What is weird though is, in my instance....whenever it has been sitting still for an hour or so it will shift normal....but whenever it warms up, fail safe mode kicks in.

As far as what he told me...you have to drop the pan.
