Just leave it dirty. Dirty K&Ns filter much more when they are dirty. The AEM Dryflow on my S-10 uses Simple Green. On the Dodge I just throw away the paper element and get a new one for $10.

You can clean it with mild soap and water, or simple green if you have it. Then just buy some K&N oil, the oil itself shouldn't be much.

If you clean it you must use either K&N or another air filter oil because without the oil it will not filter like supposed to and will let in more dirt.
You can just use water and if that doesnt clean it enough use a little bit of soap
