Just curious if any one knows how to clean the K&N filters at home with out using their solution, i just did a full tune up plugs/wires/oil etc etc and i dont have the funds to spend on their $25 kits, could i just use soap and water or what?
Just leave it dirty. Dirty K&Ns filter much more when they are dirty. The AEM Dryflow on my S-10 uses Simple Green. On the Dodge I just throw away the paper element and get a new one for $10.
Yea but it's REALLY dirty, like completely black.. im going to wash it out with some grease lighting and see if that cleans it up a bit atleast get the majority off
If you clean it you must use either K&N or another air filter oil because without the oil it will not filter like supposed to and will let in more dirt.
You can just use water and if that doesnt clean it enough use a little bit of soap
