Well I have a little troubleshooting issue for the experts here.

My truck which is a 96 ram 1500 SLT 5.9 Is having some severe issues. If I let it sit a while and then try to drive, once i let off the gas it stalls out.

It is an automatic. Now I was told these trucks have big issues with dead batteries and stalling, so I replaced the battery, then went to my next logical choice and did the alternator.

Every time I replace something it runs fine for about 2 days then starts acting up again, I do have a sound system in the truck that is drawing extra power, however it has been hooked up for two years and I have never had an issue.

Any ideas on what to try next?

 

Are you saying it only does this when the engine is cold or has not fully warmed up? Then after it's driven for a while, and is hot, it stops stalling when you let off the gas.
