the plenum is actually an easy job, you can get it done 7-8 hours if you know your stuff. id just do it now and be done with it. I used a hughes plenum and love it.

make sure to label everything. i labeled every bolt/sensor with tape saying exacally where it went...just makes installation much easier. id do the cap/rotor at the same time as well

IIRC, the CPS mod is a waste of time because the PCM relearns and sets it back anyway.

i didn't label anything, i just put the bolts back where they came from when i was taking parts off so i wouldn't lose them.

so, notching the CPS was a waste of time, it would be nice for future forum users to have a sticky or something to prevent wasted time and expectations

guess after I do plenum fix a tuner is only choice (and if I can't afford a tuner why do plenum fix anyways if I can't take advantage of it, I do have the death flash)

now, I need to worry about getting the trans working correctly, I have NO OVERDRIVE! and a trip planned to Johnson Valley Ca. for King of Hammers in about a week

You will take advantage of a fixed plenum even without a tuner.

1. You wont be sucking in oil through the intake manifold
2. Your truck wont ping under load
3. You wont eventually burn up the catalytic converter from the motor burning oil.

PLUS!!! The added performance from your motor, because it isnt burning oil!
