Default Can't find my gears. Killing me right now.

Guys,

All was well minus my normal issues with ticking and pinging and stuff until today at lunch. We went to get a burger, came back, turned her on and went into reverse to back up. Truck backed up normal ETC ETC. Slide the column down to get to "D" and engine just rev'ed. It's done this once or twice before so I wigged it. Nope, nothing, rev rev...Went to "P" Nope, started rolling backwards. Went back into reverse and moved to a less populated part of the parking lot to try some stuff.

I went all the way down to "1", OK, moving forward now, had 1 upshift, so maybe this is "2"?. Moved her up one more, rev rev. Up one more, "D"! Anyway, I still don't have park, thankfully my ebrake works, but WTF is going on here? I don't get this, and it's kinda dangerous having to gear fish. I tried her about an hour ago and "D" is now in a totally different spot too, it's something. "D" was all the way down this time.

I'm at a loss, help!

Todd

Sounds like you might have lost a Pin in the linkage. have you checked your fluid lately?
