Temperature question/picture request

yall, should go to a shop that has a temp gun and have your hose checked by the tstat, that seems pretty low

well there's an idea, i'll bring my temp gun with me today when i go out to aberdeen.

why would you go to a shop for that anyway? you can get an oem brand temp gun at advance for 20$.

Here's how mine looks with a 180 after the thermostat has opened. Before it opens, the needle gets up a little higher, like closer to the "2" of "210". But after it opens, this is were it settles until it closes again.

With the 195 in, the needle pretty much covers the "2" completely.

This is my second 180 t-stat. The first one showed the same.

mine runs a bit hotter than silvers with my 180 stat...mine is actually right at about 180 on the gauge

well thats good to know. so when i first got the truck i was probably running closer to 200-210 then.

i put my heat gun on the top hose earlier and it was 170º so the coolant inside was probably around 195º.
