Reverse lights
Can I add a set of 55w off road lights to the back of my truck and wire them in to my trailer wiring? I dont wanna run wires all the way back. All I would so is splice them into the connector.

do you have the 5 or 6 wire trailer connector with the reverse light in the middle?
whether you do or not, the right answer is you should tap the reverse light to operate a relay, which can be at the back of the truck, but you should run a fused power wire from the battery, through the relay, to the lights. it should be about 14 gauge.
now, having said that's the right way to do it, i installed backup lights onto my receiver hitch, and tapped the normal backup lights with no relay. it works fine, but its would be a lot brighter if i did it right.
here's my thread with my $10 lights from Northern Tool.
