my t-chain with 68,### miles

also any thoughts on this
im putting in new lifters and have a little problem, when pulling the lifter out it hits the headgasket(se pic).... can i cut the head gasket or will it make it weak and blow out?
my thought are that the sealing section between the block and head so i should be ok,, real dont want to pull the head but i eill dod what i got too

i'd replace that timing chain/gear. its only around $50 and you've already got it apart. the new one will have no slack at all.
you can clip that head gasket if you use a good pair of sharp side cutters and snip it clean and quick. don't jerk, wiggle, pull, push, and twist or you'll mess them up.

I wonder what mine looks like after 178,000?

I wonder what mine looks like with 447,500 on it. The slack in the pic isn't that bad. When you can touch the chain together in the middle, it's bad, and I have seen running engines with that much slack!!!
