I always wondered about this. But I'm not wanting to haul tractors, just horses. Sounds like it's better to just stick with a bumper pull or get a bigger truck. And I'm only hauling two horses. Which between the both of them is a little over 2000lbs. I'm glad I read this post.

So about 6k total? A gooseneck would be better for weight distribution but a bumper pull will do fine. It is the total weight that matters not how it is attached. The gooseneck has better weight distribution then a bumper pull.
